HISTORY

HISTORY

The Department of Chemistry developed a Bachelor of Science Program; Integrated Chemistry to keep up with the advances in various fields of science and the change of technology during the age of globalization with the aim of enhancing quality of graduates to have knowledge at an international level. This also supports the entry into the ASEAN Economic Community in 2016.

Furthermore, this also results in the sustainable development of science and technology where Thailand can be economically self-reliant and also insusceptible to changes from external factors. The department therefore wants to produce quality graduates in the field of chemistry, with high morals, and complete understanding of both the theory and search to create knowledge in science and technology at an international level.

Department of chemistry has established strong research collaboration with many universities in Thailand and other countries. Our academic staff in the department of Chemistry have high research experience, published many national and international publications, and have received many awards.

Consequently, the department of Chemistry is ready to support the Bachelor of Science degree in integrated chemistry (international course) for the development and advancement in academics to produce graduates who have the qualities, knowledge and capabilities for Thailand’s development and ASEAN Economic Community which require both scientific and English skills.

Nowadays, Thailand still mainly relies on importing the scientific technology from abroad, therefore, high level of scientists is needed in Thailand for the development and sustainability.

Labor market needs

Labor market needs

Survey of the labor market needs with the feedback scales ranging from very high, high, medium, low, and very low demands has been collected from entrepreneurs in both government and private sectors. The feedback has shown that the needs of the KU integrated chemistry (KUIC) curriculum is in very high and high demand.

The feedback indicated that the KUIC curriculum will bring about the social impact especially for ASEAN Economic Community. After graduation from the KUIC program, strong scientific knowledge and good English skill will provide competitive potential and benefits for job searching in the labor market.

To produce chemistry graduates with chemistry knowledge

that enables them to be innovators with problem-solving skills for government and private agencies according to the policy and direction of science and technology development of the country and the world.

To develop teaching and learning strategies in the Bachelor of Science Program in Integrated Chemistry

resulting in students with good English proficiency and strengthening international collaborations with universities abroad.

To support the science education

To support the science education management policy of Kasetsart University under Thailand's economic development plan

To comply with Thailand's human resource development

To comply with Thailand's human resource development project plan in science and technology, which will lead to self-reliance in science and technology in the future.
